One thing that is important to understand is that despite the name, PRPD isn’t just Paradise. The District spans approximately 165 square miles across the Ridge—from Butte Creek Canyon and Paradise to Magalia, Paradise Pines, Concow, Yankee Hill, and the communities in between.

This District provides and supports parks, trails, open spaces, recreation programs, youth and adult activities, community events, pools, community facilities, outdoor recreation opportunities, as well as future park and recreation development throughout the entire service area.

That distinction matters.

Paradise Recreation & Park District is not simply the recreation department for the Town of Paradise. It is an independent, CA Special District with an elected Board of Directors responsible for serving the communities across the Ridge.

You don’t have to live in the Town of Paradise to vote for who sits on this Board of Directors. If you live in Magalia, Paradise Pines, Concow, Yankee Hill, Butte Creek Canyon, or another area within the District boundary, your representation matters too.

My message to you is simple: every community within this District has a voice, and should receive attention, and see value from the recreation and park services they help support.
